Autoimmune Diagnostic Products

In-vitro diagnostic products by ORGENTEC comprise more than 300 laboratory tests, primarily enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISA), that contribute to the diagnosis of rheumatic diseases, thrombosis, and diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, as well as infectious diseases. Our product portfolio also embraces the fully automated instrument Alegria® and associated test kits that enable laboratories to complete multiple assays and deliver faster results than traditional ELISA tests.

   Alegria®

Alegria® – for Automated Laboratory Diagnostics

Our fully automatic analytical instrument Alegria® can be used for both product lines from ORGENTEC Diagnostika, as well as for autoimmune diagnostics and infection disease serology.

Alegria® is not limited to specific sample numbers. Even individual samples can be rapidly and economically analyzed with this instrument – or up to 30 samples can be processed in a single run, in any combination. This makes Alegria® especially attractive for laboratories with average or lower sample frequency or for acute diagnostics.

Each individual test strip contains a complete set of reagents for determination of a single sample. Any sample preparation or complex set-up of the instrument for operation are unnecessary. The individual barcode of the test strip includes all necessary information about the test, analysis and evaluation, and the expiration date of the test strip.

Success backs the concept: Alegria® is consistently in line with modern laboratory practice and within a few years has proven itself in hundreds of laboratories on every continent. Unusually low maintenance requirements make Alegria® the reliable partner for both autoimmune disease diagnostics and infection serology.

Immunoblot

Test systems for a comprehensive antibody profile

ORGENTEC immunoblots complement our ELISA test systems and our test kits and reagents for immunofluorescence as an important component for antibody detection and diagnosing autoimmune disorders. They are put to use in diagnosing rheumatic inflammatory diseases, detecting ANCA (antinuclear cytoplasmic antibodies) and vasculitis diagnosis as well as in gastroenterology diagnostics.

ORGENTEC immunoblots can be carried out quickly and reproducibly in any laboratory. Evaluations are visual, so no special laboratory equipment is needed.

ORGENTEC Diagnostika’s blot strips for autoimmune diagnostics offer security on several levels: the cut-off lines and serum control and enzyme control lines confirm the integrity and functionality of the test system. The individual coding of ORGENTEC strips prevents mix-ups.

The cut-off line makes possible the rapid and reliable semi-quantitative evaluation of test results through comparison of colour intensity with the calibration strips included with the test kit. Positive and negative results can be unambiguously distinguished.

The advantages at a glance:

  • up to nine antigens on a single blot strip
  • instant usability: all reagents are ready-to-use
  • easy to use: rapid and uncomplicated
  • three control lines for sure and reproducible results
  • no interchange of diagnostic tests: each strip is individually coded
  • semi-quantitative evaluation
  • easy interpretation of test results with included calibration strips
  • immunoblot tests are economical for high and low sample frequency

Immunofluorescence

Immunofluorescence Assays (IFA) by ORGENTEC

Standard Technique for Autoantibody Detection

The indirect immunofluorescence technique, or IFT, is one of the standard techniques of autoimmune diagnostics. IFT delivers rapid and reliable results and is often the method of choice when test antigens cannot be prepared for ELISA test systems or blot tests.

Our cultured cells and frozen sections allow for the simultaneous detection of numerous autoantibodies in a single analytical test. The combination of different substrates is especially suitable for autoantibody screening and the generation of antibody profiles.

The complete Spectrum of Autoimmune Diagnostics

Our large selection of special tissue sections from rats, mice, or primates, and our optimized cell cultures almost cover the full spectrum of autoimmune disease diagnostics.

Our HEp-2 cells are distinguished by their large nuclei and broad cytoplasms, which meet the criteria to make possible the certain and reliable appraisal of patient serum. Painstaking production methods ensure that the HEp-2 cells are optimally distributed on the slides and that there are a high number of stages of division.

Each lot of ORGENTEC IFT kits, IFT test slides, and all components for indirect immunofluorescence assays, are repeatedly tested by our experienced specialists. Only when the test kits, reagents, slides, and components meet our exacting quality standards do they come on the market.

The indirect immunofluorescence technique is complemented by our ELISA test systems and ORGENTEC immunoblots.
